Applications for Turnpike Commission Summer Job Opportunities Now Available in Rohrer’s Office
2/4/2010

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is now accepting applications for toll, maintenance and clerical positions through the 2010 Summer Turnpike Program, Rep. Sam Rohrer (R-Berks) said today.

“During hard economic times, this is an opportunity for qualified candidates to earn some good money,” Rohrer said.  “No government program can replace the feeling of cashing a paycheck.  I encourage interested applicants to visit my office in person or log on to my Web page.  My staff and I are here to help with the application process.”

Interested applicants may now obtain applications from Rohrer’s Reading district office or online at SamRohrer.com.  The deadline to submit applications to Rohrer’s office is Friday, March 12.  Applicants should submit their applications to Rohrer’s office and not to the Turnpike Commission directly, as this will only delay processing of the application.

The program is limited to 16 weeks per employee and runs between May 1 and Sept. 30.  Applicants must have graduated from high school or be attending college.  Toll collectors must be available to work any of the three shifts over a 24-hour period, including Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

For more information about summer employment with the Turnpike Commission, residents should contact Rohrer’s Reading district office at 29 Village Center Drive, Suite A7, or by calling 610-775-5130.  Resident’s also may acquire more information by visiting Rohrer’s Web site at SamRohrer.com and clicking on “Turnpike Commission Summer Employment.”
